What to expect from your cleaning

You have your estimate. Here is exactly what is included, how the visit goes, and the two things we need from you before the truck arrives.

What is included in your estimate

Every carpet cleaning includes the full process. There are no “basic” and “deluxe” versions of the clean itself.

  • Pre-inspection. Your technician walks the areas with you, confirms the square footage, and points out anything that needs special attention or may not fully come out.
  • Pre-vacuuming and pre-conditioning. Dry soil is removed first, then traffic lanes get a cleaning agent that loosens embedded dirt.
  • Spot pre-treatment. Individual spots and heavily soiled areas are treated before the main clean.
  • Truck-mounted hot water rotary extraction. Heated water and vacuum from the van, not a rental unit, delivered through a Rotovac 360i rotary head instead of a hand wand. The head makes hundreds of cleaning passes per minute from every direction, so it pulls up matted traffic lanes and embedded soil a wand passes over, and leaves less water in the carpet.
  • Furniture moving at the level you chose. Your estimate shows the price for open areas, light furniture, or most furniture. We move what the quoted level covers and clean around the rest.
  • Post-spotting. Any spots or stains still showing after the main clean get a second treatment with color-safe bleaches.
  • Post-cleaning. We lay protective mats on your hard floors while we work and mop them on the way out.
  • Dry to the touch in 6 to 12 hours. Faster with fans or air conditioning running.
  • Final walk-through (optional). Check the finished work with the technician, or if you would rather not walk on the fresh carpet, the technician gives you a post-cleaning report instead.
Quoted separately, only if you want them: pet urine treatment, carpet protector, deodorizer, upholstery, area rugs, and tile and grout. If one of these is on your estimate, it was included because you asked about it or the technician recommended it.

How the visit goes

From the confirmation email to the last hose coming out of the house.

  1. You get a confirmation email with your arrival window

Reply to the estimate email with the days that work and we book you. You will get an email confirming the date and your arrival window.

  2. Your technician calls or texts on the way

You will know when the van is close. Please make sure there is a clear spot to park. See parking below.

  3. Walk-through and measure

The technician measures each area, reviews the plan with you, and confirms the exact price before any work starts.

  4. Cleaning

Pre-vacuum, pre-treat, rotary extraction, post-spotting. A typical home takes two to three hours depending on square footage and furniture.

  5. Final check and payment

Walk the finished rooms with the technician, or take the post-cleaning report if you would rather stay off the damp carpet. We take cash, check, or card on site. Card payments carry a 3% technology fee.

  6. Drying

Carpet is dry to the touch in 6 to 12 hours. Fans and air conditioning speed it up. Keep pets and stocking feet off it until dry.

Parking and getting ready

Our equipment runs from the van, so where the truck parks matters more than for most contractors.

Where the van needs to park

  • Within 50 feet of the front door. A driveway or the curb directly in front of the home is ideal.
  • Townhouses and condos: please reserve a spot near your entrance, or let us know where visitor parking is when you book.
  • Gated communities: leave the gate code or call the gate ahead of time so the technician is not waiting outside.
  • High-rise or garage-only buildings: tell us when you book. We may need a loading dock, and we typically use portable equipment because the truck-mounted hoses will not reach.

Before we arrive

  • Pick up small items from the floor: toys, shoes, cords, and anything under beds you want cleaned under.
  • Open-area cleaning: move small tables and chairs off the carpet before we arrive.
  • If we are moving furniture: remove fragile items and electronics from anything we will be moving.
  • Put pets in a room we are not cleaning. The equipment is loud, and a door will be cracked open for the hoses.
  • Point out any spots you are worried about during the walk-through so the technician can treat them first.
  • Move-out cleanings: the home must be completely empty to receive the move-out rate.

Common questions

Will every stain come out?

Most soil, traffic lanes, and fresh spills come out completely. Some things are permanent: bleach, dye transfer, old pet urine that reached the pad, and stains that have been set by heat or store-bought chemicals. Your technician will tell you during the walk-through what to expect from each spot.

Do I need to be home?

We prefer someone 18 or older to be there. If you cannot be, arrange entry and exit for the technician ahead of time. We will call before starting and before leaving.

Is the estimate the final price?

A price given over the phone or by email is based on the square footage you supplied. The technician confirms the measurement on arrival and gives you the exact price before starting. If you did a virtual walk-through, the price is final unless otherwise stated.

What is the guarantee?

100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not totally delighted with the work, we re-clean any area of concern at no cost to you. If for some reason you are still not satisfied, we refund your money, no questions asked. Reach out within 10 days of your service and we will act to remedy the situation.

How often should carpet be cleaned?

Most carpet manufacturers require hot water extraction every 12 to 18 months to keep the warranty. Homes with kids, pets, or allergies do better on a 6 to 12 month schedule. Ask your technician about our maintenance program.
